Madison Square Eats

After learning that all of the mini desserts on Wednesday were from the tent of Hot Blondies Bakery at the Madison Square Eats festival, I knew a visit was in order.  I traveled down to see what else they had to offer - it was a great time and definitely recommended to anyone in New York.

The vendors will be there through October 21st and are set up right on 23rd and Fifth.

Warning: Do not count calories while at Madison Square Eats. Treats include: Crepes, Wine, Donuts, Ice Cream, Sandwiches, Craft Beer, and Waffles.

Lady Like

Everything in New York is so expensive: rent, food, entertainment - you name it.  So far, there are only two things I have found in this city that are less expensive than other places - pizza slices and mani/pedis.  Amongst the nice restaurants and glamorous spas, dollar slices and cheap nail salons do exist.

It's not a five-star experience, but the $25 manicure/pedicure deals that can be found here sure make it easy to not feel bad about the bi-monthly (sometimes weekly) visits.

Rebecca Minkoff + Henri Bendel

Rebecca Minkoff has taken the industry by storm in the past few years. Her coveted Morning After Bag helped her establish a name for herself as one of the top fashion designers in the industry.  Today, she held a special event at Henri Bendel featuring NY Cake Pops, a special 20% discount on purchases over $200, and complimentary Benjamin wallets with purchase.  Rebecca herself wasn't able to attend the event (she just had a baby boy a few days ago).  A new baby is quite a good reason to miss an event - she's not the type to fail her fans!  I had the opportunity of getting to know her last year when she helped support a non-profit that I'm involved in (see here) and she was such a most kind, generous, and lovely person.

Many "Minkettes' took that extra long lunch break today.

Turning of a New Leaf

I'm starting this blog because I admire and love all of the blogs that have inspired me to make, try, eat, wear and learn new things.  Having recently moved to New York City, I spend so much time around some of the best restaurants, fashion, experiences, and scenery every single day.  My hope is to share some of those experiences and post consistently about a few of my favorite things: food, fashion, beauty, good finds, and great moments.

My first fall season has officially started here in NYC...and this will be the perfect way to capture all of the new adventures in this chapter of my life.

The chief beauty about time is that you cannot waste it in advance. The next year, the next day,  the next hour are lying ready for you, as perfect, as unspoiled, as if you had never wasted or misapplied a single moment in all your life. You can turn over a new leaf every hour if you choose. - Arnold Bennett
